Compte à Rebours Final

November 10th, 2010 § 12 Comments

Hi,

Welcome to Deck of the Day!

Firstly I would like to thank everyone for their wonderful comments yesterday.

Today I will be featuring my newly revised FINAL COUNTDOWN deck, in theory it is the most solid build I have ever created.

Monsters (8)

Final Countdown

The Final Countdown!

3 Swift Scarecrow
3 Battle Fader
1 Sangan
1 Morphing Jar

Spells (19)
3 Final Countdown
3 Pot of Duality
3 Upstart Goblin
2 Golden Sarcophagus
2 Mystical Space Typhoon
2 Nightmare Steel Cage
1 Swords of Revealing Light
1 Level Limit - Area B
1 Giant Trunade
1 Scapegoat

Traps (13)
3 Threatening Roar
3 Waboku
3 Thunder of Ruler
2 Dark Bribe
1 Gravity Bind
1 Solemn Judgment

Firstly we can cover my monster choices,

We will put Swift Scarecrow and Battle Fader under the same category which is a way we can stop the battle phase from our hand. This is a priceless tactic in this deck since we only have to survive for 10 turns.

Remember Final Countdown costs 2000 life points to play and in 20 turns you win the duel. The turn you play the card counts as the first turn, and it counts the opponents turns.

We are playing Morphing Jar to help us build up an arsenal to stop our opponent from defeating us, as well it can  potentially allow us to draw into Countdown sooner.

Sangan – Can search for any monster we are playing, to valuable.

Help us draw our win condition – Pot of Duality, Upstart Goblin, Golden Sarcophagus.

Standard stall cards include – Swords of Revealing Light, Nightmare Steel Cage, Level Limit – Area B, and Gravity Bind.

Chainable stall cards include – Threatening Roar, Waboku, Thunder of Ruler, and Scapegoat.

We are playing Solemn Judgment and Dark Bribe to ensure our cards go through without a problem. It can also help us slow down the opponent.

This is also why we are playing Mystical Space Typhoon, and Giant Trunade. These cards can help us eliminate obvious threats such as Royal Decree or Royal Oppression. As well as face down threats like Solemn Warning or Solemn Judgment.

You can also consider putting in 3 Reckless Greed. If I were to do that I would remove 1 Duality and the 2 Golden Sarcophagus. Other wise if you don’t own Duality’s you could replace them with the Reckless Greeds.

This is a fun deck to try out, just remember to have a plan and don’t waste your resources.

Don’t set your entire hand when you don’t have to, common plays are activate Level limit – Area B and set 1 chainable protection card for those just incase moments.

If you have Solemn Judgment or Morphing Jar you can warrent doing more reckless plays.

The real trick is Game 2 side decking into a completely different deck with a completely different strategy like, BURN or Beat Down.

What do you guys think of this deck?

Is there anything you would recommend?

Friday! Karakuri Deck! It is pretty unique and I can guarantee that you have not seen a build like this anywhere else.
